FAQs

  • Your first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what’s been bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and any questions you have about therapy. There’s no pressure to share everything right away—we’ll move at your pace. You can also let me know about any accommodations or preferences you need so that this space feels safe and supportive for you. Most importantly, it’s a chance to start building trust and make sure this feels like the right fit.

  • It really depends on what feels right for you—your needs, goals, and schedule. Many people start with weekly sessions to feel supported and build momentum. Over time, we can adjust together so that therapy fits your life. This is your space, and we’ll make it work for you.

  • If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or just… not quite like yourself, it’s okay to reach out. You don’t need a crisis or a “big reason” to start. Therapy can be a space to process, reconnect with yourself, and grow. Even just feeling curious? That’s reason enough to start a conversation!

  • That feeling is completely valid, and you’re definitely not alone in experiencing it. I believe finding the right therapist is really important, but oftentimes difficult. I bring warmth, curiosity, and care to our work, and I truly believe you’re the expert on your own experience. We’ll move at your pace and create a space that feels safe, supportive, and just for you.

  • You can send me a quick message or email, and we can either set up a brief consultation to chat about what you’re looking for, or if you’re ready, go ahead and schedule your first session. Either way, I’ll guide you through the process so it feels easy and supportive from the start.

  • Yes, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can get a feel for what working together might be like. You’re welcome to ask questions, share what’s on your mind, or simply see if it feels like a good fit.

  • I do not accept insurance at this time, but I offer a sliding scale to make therapy more accessible. This is a deliberate decision to prioritize your care and privacy. Without insurance involvement, therapy can focus fully on you—your needs, goals, and growth—without the pressure to assign diagnoses on a specific timeline or share session details with an insurance company. This approach allows for greater flexibility and the ability to tailor therapy to your unique circumstances.

  • There's a common misconception that therapy is only for people who have a diagnosis or have experienced something traumatic. In reality, everyday life can feel overwhelming, exhausting, and heavy enough to make therapy not just helpful, but necessary —not only to get through the day, but to rediscover joy and meaning in your life.

Therapy is a soft place to land, where you can let out that breath that you've been holding in, lower your shoulders down from your ears, unclench your jaw, and take a sigh of relief. Therapy is where you can set down what you've been carrying, share your burdens, and feel truly seen - sometimes for the very first time.

My mission is for Perennial Counseling to be a space where my clients feel that they can show up not only for who they are, but be seen for who they can become and be able to identify inherent qualities about themselves that are beautiful, innate, and fundamentally irreplicable.
